Advanced HIV Counseling, Testing & Referral Training

About the Training: This one-day training is designed to upgrade the skills and deepen the knowledge of the current HIV counselor. It explores the unique and diverse characteristic of the highest risk populations, such as men who have sex with men (MSM), substance users/abusers, persons who have sex with others people outside of their primary relationships, commercial sex workers, and high risk individuals within low risk populations and the impact on prevention counseling and testing.

Participants in this training will discuss the above mentioned populations from a variety of angles. In addition, they will explore the affects of clinic structure and brainstorm effective program development. They will have an opportunity to deepen their ability to meet the specific needs of these high risk situations. Participants will consider the importance of advocating for these high risk populations within a CTR program.
